Accra is very hot and humid so really the best time of year to go is during the dry season which is from November to April usually. Otherwise average temperature always varies around 85F hot throughout the year, but you avoid moisture to some extent, as well as bugs. Makola Market - bring a sense of humor and do not use the camera and valuables back camera, Makola market is incredibly intense. Everything you always thought could possibly be bought or sold can be found here. Unlike some bars in Accra, it is a place full of women.
Labadi Beach - my first experience was in Accra Labadi beach. I had just emerged from a long distance flight in the U.S. And I wanted to get a late lunch. I sailed the tro tro system with local help, and I went to the most popular beach in Accra. I sat in a cold Star beer, followed by a delicious fried fish and spicy jollof. This starts a holiday!
Oxford Street, Osu - is hip and crosses Oxford Street (cantonments Road) in the luxurious district of Osu. Some of the best restaurants, bars and shops are Accra this trail. Stalls selling fake Rolex watches , pirated CDs and t- shirts in the line of the street , traffic from one end to the other , which in the exuberant atmosphere in general.
The National Museum has wonderful displays of the culture and history of Ghana, including the slave trade and the Ashanti Kingdom. The Museum timing is daily 9 to 7.
Artists Alliance Gallery - if you are at all interested in contemporary art or the fine arts , which will be carried by the Alliance of Artists Gallery . I spent half a day here and could not enough. Huge metal sculptures, mixed with old Asafo flags, kente cloth, furniture and fantastic masks. One of the most respected Ghana Ablade Glover artist is responsible for Treasury Board to three floors.
